Very nice hotel, spacious and a bit luxurious.
The furniture was old but clean and functional. A bit hard to find.
We were rather dissappointed by all the previous comments, but we still booked in the Galaxy Hotel (mainly because all the other hotels in the city were 100 euro per night or more, during the festival days). We were very pleasantly surprised: either there's been a renovation after the last comments, or everybody else was too picky (?) Our room and bathroom were impeccably clean and comfortable, with a large variety of amenities, and aircondition working perfectly. The staff was kind and helpful with everything we asked. Lcation was very central, and very close to the Castle. All in all, great value for money.
The hotel is located in the central of the city and is very convenient to walk around.
The WC/shower need immediate renovation and cleaning. The hotel stuff was a bit unfriendly and reluctant to provide information.
It had a balcony and attractive lobby
Staff seemed annoyed to see me, a party or nightclub one block away was louder than a fire engine, lots of cigarette smoke was coming in from another room, the bathroom door looked like it had been salvaged from a public campground, the shower had no shower curtain or means of hanging the shower head, towels were ragged, and the shelf under the mirror was hanging off the wall at a 30 degree angle so there was no where to set down a tube of toothpaste or bar of soap. Even the rim of the sink was too narrow for that. The toilet seat was not attached to the toilet. The sink was not attached to the floor or wall. The stopper in the sink was just sitting there in the sink, unconnected to the device that raises and lowers it. I've seen plenty of nicer bathrooms in gas stations. This was the only place in our 14 nights in Greece that my husband and I refused to shower in. And it was either the least, or the second least comfortable bed of our trip.
What I liked best was not being in the hotel
Missing light-bulbs, electric cables hanging out of the wall, lack of hot water, unresponsive staff, non-functioning credit card machine, total lack of information, non-closing bathroom door...the list could go on and on...
Pretty close to city centre. Recently refurbished rooms. Rich breakfast and free wi-fi and pc station
No private parking
Good location, reasonably friendly staff Good bright lighting in bedroom
The shower room was very small and shabby, no curtain on shower or wall bracket- shower head had to be held in hand. The matress was very thin and uncomfortable. Free internet did not reach to bedroom.
Receptionist was bubbly and very helpful
Finding the hotel was difficult - the map on the booking form was too small and it would have been more helpful to have directions.
The receptionist was more than polite and prompt. The room clean and nice. Nice dining room. Toothbrash, comb, head cap etc offered!
The bathroom could be better. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.
The public areas of the Galaxy were smart and welcoming, clearly trying to keep standards up even though trade looked rather light. Greece is suffering from a downturn in tourist numbers this year. The location is convenient for the bus station - only about ten minutes away - and in the old part of town so it's a good kilometre from the beach. The rooms were air conditioned and comfortable and the breakfast was good. For the price, it was good and I'd stay there again.
